Egle Markeviciute

Egle Markeviciute is an Editor at EU Tech Loop and a public affairs specialist.

Egle has over 14 years of experience in political campaigning, public affairs, advocacy, and the public sector.

She served as a Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Economy & Innovation of Lithuania between 2020 and 2023, where she was responsible for reforms in digital, innovation, and space policy sectors.

From 2020 to 2023, Egle also held positions as a Board Member at the Innovation Agency Lithuania, the E-Health Board at the Ministry of Health, and the Lithuanian Research Council under the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport.

Between 2017 and 2020 Egle worked as lobbyist, and between 2012 and 2017 she was an active political campaign manager in Lithuania. Egle holds a Political Science BA and an East European and Russian Studies MA from Vilnius University’s Institute of International Relations and Political Science.

She is also the co-author of the futurological book “Lietuva 2120” (“Lithuania 2120”), which explores future political scenarios for Lithuania.

Fred Roeder

Fred is a Health Economist from Germany and has worked in healthcare reform in North America and Europe. One of his passions is to analyze how disruptive industries and technologies allow consumers more choice at a lower cost. He also loves researching how innovation makes our lives better.

Fred is very interested in consumer choice and regulatory trends in the following industries: Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Sharing Economy, Airlines.
In 2014 he organized a protest in Berlin advocating for competition in the Taxi market.

Yaël Ossowski

Yaël Ossowski is a consumer and technology advocate, journalist, and writer. He is deputy director at the Consumer Choice Center.

Since 2010, he has worked as a journalist, policy analyst, and grassroots organizer both in Europe and North America. He was previously Watchdog.org’s Florida Bureau Chief, chief Spanish translator, and national investigative reporter from 2012-2015, and Senior Development Officer at Students For Liberty.
His articles have appeared in USA Today, The Hill, The Chicago Tribune, Washington Examiner, La Presse, Le Journal de Montréal, Charlotte Observer, Miami Herald, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Detroit News, Reason Magazine, American Spectator, Huffington Post, FoxNews.com, and much more. He has had over 1,000 articles published in newspapers, magazines, and online outlets.

He is also a visiting fellow at the Bitcoin Policy Institute.

He studied at Concordia University in Montréal and the University of Vienna, and received an MA in Philosophy, Politics, Economics (PPE) at the CEVRO Institute in Prague.

Mike Salem

Mike’s remit is to monitor UK policy developments and ensure that the rights of consumers are well represented with policy makers, organisations, and other public stakeholders. As such, his focus is wide ranging and relates to all aspects of economic policy, lifestyle and technology.

Mike had some experience in the public sector, working on projects with different government departments and NGOs. Mike graduated from the LSE, having read PPE. His focus was on political sovereignty in the UK, British political history and the development of economic theory through time. He was secretary of the Hayek Society for three years running. During that time, he worked on promoting free speech and fostering debates on a range of issues, as well as working with a range of think tanks.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys exploring the British countryside and its history, tennis, sailing, and playing the bassoon, as well as serving his local community, where he sits on the governing board of a local school.

Emil Panzaru

Emil is the Research Manager at Consumer Choice Center and is based in the UK (London).
He successfully defended his PhD in Political Economy (Research) at King’s College London in 2022. He also holds an MSc in Political Theory from the London School of Economics from 2016, as well as a BA in Politics and International Relations from the University of Sheffield in 2015.

Prior to working at the Center, Emil was a Teaching Assistant at King’s College London, where he taught students on contemporary issues at the intersection of politics, philosophy and economics. He was also a Frederic Bastiat Fellow and Research Fellow at George Mason University’s Mercatus Center, helping to publish and contributing to academic research on incentives, knowledge, and public policy.
